The Teach Portsmouth Awards Live on Thursday 8 July was a fantastic celebration of the outstanding achievements of teachers, support teams and leaders in the city over the past 18 months.

The 9 award categories highlighted how much those working in education in Portsmouth have done to support the city's children, young people and their families throughout the pandemic.

An inspirational head teacher has been recognised by his local community in an annual awards ceremony for teachers with a surprise trophy giving at his school. Local residents have recognised Ashley Howard, head teacher at Highbury Primary School for his efforts to support pupils and their families during the pandemic. 

A virtual awards ceremony in Portsmouth for the city's superstar teachers, support teams and head teachers has revealed the winners in 8 award categories on Thursday 8 July. This year's event was hosted by broadcaster Reverend Richard Coles through Zoom video conferencing. Over 180 colleagues joined the digital event as we celebrated the achievements of everyone.
