The city's education workforce came together to celebrate two decades of service at an awards ceremony held at Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 26 June 2024. 87 people from primary, secondary and special schools were put forward by their peers to attend an afternoon tea and trophy giving in recognition of their achievements.

A 'dynamic duo' of schools hosted a special hamper giving ceremony in recognition of their staff going above and beyond for families. Cliffdale Primary Academy and Copner Primary Academy were chosen by sponsors to receive their hamper in person with council leaders also in attendance.

A group of school superheroes at Arundel Court Primary Academy attended a thank you tea party with parents/carers, senior school staff and council leaders to celebrate an important milestone, after Portsmouth's community thanked over 500+ primary, secondary and specialist school staff across the city.

Families across Portsmouth are continuing to recognise the school superheroes who go above and beyond for the city's children and young people. We've reached an incredible milestone in our thank a school superhero initiative and have now received over 500 messages!

"Thank you" was the word used by pupils at a Portsmouth school who have celebrated the launch of an initiative to recognise their classroom superheroes. Pupils at Meon Way Federation hosted a special launch event in support of school staff who have gone above and beyond for them.

We've been overwhelmed by families nominating their school superheroes. From teachers to administrative staff, we've been blown away by the response so far. Meet Caroline, who works at Trafalgar School as a HR officer. She is one of the many school superheroes who've been recognised by a parent in the city.
